"Free To Good Home" Classified Ads Are Dangerous!

So, you feel that placing a ĀFree to Good Home” ad will bring just that " a lifelong loving home for that rescued dog, cat, puppy or kitten.

PLEASE be aware that unscrupulous people frequent these types of advertisements and they may see the Āfree” animal as:

  • Bait to train fighting dogs
  • Bait to train greyhounds
  • Fish bait
  • Snake food
  • Money from a research laboratory
  • Sacrifice for satanic rituals
  • Innocent victim for malicious pranks
  • A breeding Āmachine” if not spayed or neutered

Do all that you can to ensure that the pet goes to a truly GOOD home! The following will help you in placement:

  • Charge an adoption fee.
  • Screen individuals thoroughly/veterinarian references are suggested.
  • Meet with the entire potential adoptive family, including children.
  • Spay or neuter animal before adoption.
  • Make a home visit.
  • Have new pet meet any existing animals in the home/check behaviors.
  • Require (in writing) that if the adoption does not work out, the animal MUST BE returned to you.

Please make a credit card donation online!
