Everyday Opportunities

  1. Adopt your next pet through SPCA Alliance web site, Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control or another animal rescue group. These wonderful animals come in all shapes and sizes and are just sitting there waiting for a permanent and loving home.
  2. Be a responsible and loving pet owner. Make sure your pet is spayed or neutered!
  3. Keep current ID on your dog or cat at all times and always keep your pet properly confined or supervised.
  4. Be a good example. In addition to the basics (food, water, shelter and veterinary care) give your pet lots of love and attention. Be a good example to everyone around you.
  5. Be a hero. Report any animal cruelty and neglect as well as injured or stray animals to your county animal control facility, police or the SPCA Alliance. You will be preventing suffering and may save a life.
  6. Help spread the word. Tell your friends about our services. Promote animal safety and responsible pet ownership.
  7. Teach your children well. Instruct children how to care for animals properly and how to treat them with kindness. Set an example by doing the same.
  8. Vote for the Animals. Support legislation to protect animals. Contact government officials and urge them to support pro-animal legislation.
  9. Purchase Spay/Neuter Stamps from the post office

A few hours of your time each month volunteering will make a huge difference in the lives of these homeless animals.
